Report: Eminem to appear with Barack Obama at Detroit rally for Harris campaign
Eminem will introduce former President Barack Obama at tonight’s Detroit rally supporting Kamala Harris, CNN reported Tuesday.
The homegrown hip-hop superstar “will offer his thoughts on the presidential race,” the network reported, citing someone familiar with the event planning.
The location and time of Obama’s rally hasn’t been publicly announced.

An Eminem representative did not respond to a Free Press request for comment, and a spokesperson for the Harris campaign would not confirm the CNN report.
But it looks to be shaping up as a busy music and politics night in Detroit: Stevie Wonder — a close friend of the Obamas — will be playing Little Caesars Arena as part of his Sing Your Song tour, an 11-city get-out-the-vote dash in battleground states.

And it all comes just days after rapper Trick Trick, a past collaborator with Eminem on songs such as “Welcome 2 Detroit” and “Detroit vs. Everybody,” appeared onstage with Donald Trump at Huntington Place in a show of support for the former president. Eminem and Trick Trick performed together at the Michigan Central Station reopening concert in June.

Eminem has been a prominent Democratic advocate — and Republican foe — for much of his career, from his anti-George W. Bush song “Mosh” to his 2017 viral freestyle bashing Trump.
In 2020, the Detroit rapper lent his signature song “Lose Yourself” to a Joe Biden campaign ad just ahead of Election Day.
