Republican women should worry more about what GOP does than what Democrats think
Democrat respect isn't Republican women's problem
Re: "GOP Women should be respected, not insulted" June 30. Columnist Nicole Russell supports a GOP that has not had a platform for seven years.
The party is led by a felon — convicted by a hometown jury of his peers on 34 counts — one court-adjudicated over the past 50 years to be a racist, rapist, Russian puppet, fraud, tax cheat, insurrectionist, abuser of wage workers, and the only casino owner ever to have declared bankruptcy twice.
She should not be concerned about whether Democrats respect her; she should simply admit the Republican Party does not respect her.
Columnist: I'm a Republican woman. Progressives are wrong about what I believe.
Her search for self-respect as a GOP member these days will be a struggle.
Russell claims without evidence that Democratic voters are less "happy" and less "spiritual" than Republicans.
Does anyone think Republicans are happy or spiritual?
GOP rioters on January 6 lusted to steal power, not earn justice. Theirs is a pinch-faced party that attacks the pregnant, the poor and the less advantaged while supporting tax cuts for the top 1% and deregulation that imperils our water, soil, air, health, safety and money.Russell's says she no longer supports the leader of her party.
We can all be "happy" about that.
Low on conservatives
Why is the Columbus Dispatch so blatantly liberal in views?
Come on. There are plenty of conservatives who live in the area who would like to read the newspaper but do not want to read all the liberal-pointed stories. Are there no conservative stories in this paper?

Slow Zone In train
Re "In the Zone. What you need to know about Columbus' citywide zoning overhaul," June 30: The proposed zoning plan that is supposed to address our affordable housing crisis.
My takeaway from the article was that developers always want to use the land they develop to the fullest and that includes building up as much as possible. The article also stated that with the proposed zoning plan, buildings up to five, seven and 12 stories could be built in four of the five zoning categories with no affordable housing requirement.
If this plan is about addressing the affordable housing crisis, this makes no sense to me. The affordability crisis affects everyone in the city except the ultra-rich.
More: Zone is about the mayor's arrogance. It is not fair to Columbus property owners.
I urge city council and other leaders to slow this train down to make sure it will actually help the crisis.

Stop catering to terrible Vance
Just because Ohioan J.D. Vance is on a short list to become vice president of the United States doesn't mean Ohio voters want to read about it every day.
He's a terrible politician and an even worse public servant. I don't know why the Dispatch boasts. Maybe it's the Dispatch, along with Vance, who has lost touch with the daily reader and voter.
