RFK Jr. lists voting address at Westchester home — that’s in foreclosure and where neighbors have never seen him
Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. lists his residence to vote as a tony Westchester County address — which is in foreclosure proceedings for non-payment, court records show.
The independent candidate claims his voting address is 84 Croton Lake Road In Katonah, though he is not the owner of the million-dollar, in-arrears property, does not show up in resident searches for it, and some longtime neighbors — and even local authorities — were shocked at the notion it’s his home.
“No … he doesn’t live here,” a local cop insisted Sunday.
But RFK Jr. also has the same address listed as his “domicile” — or residence — on his presidential nomination petitions filed in New Hampshire in recent months, according to the records, which were obtained by The Post.
A review of voting records show RFK Jr. voted in primary and/or general elections using that New York address as recently as 2020 — and in 2018, 2016, 2014, 2013, 2011, 2010 and 2008.
He voted by mail during the COVID outbreak using the Croton Lake address, too.
The legal owner of the property is Barbara Moss, the wife of longtime RFK pal Timothy Haydock, a Westchester doctor.
Haydock and RFK Jr. served as the best man at each other’s first wedding, and RFK is the godfather of Haydock’s daughter.
The US Bank Trust Company filed a foreclosure action against Moss, an interior and landscape designer, in state Supreme Court in March, claiming she owed $46,106 plus interest.
A settlement conference is scheduled for June 7.
“A mortgage foreclosure case has been started against you for the property located at 84 Croton Lake Road , Katonah, NY 10536 . Do not ignore this notice or any court papers that you receive. YOU MAY LOSE YOUR HOME,” Ninth District Judicial District Judge Anne Minihan said in an April 26 notice to Moss.
The Kennedy campaign insisted in a Sunday night statement that the home is RFK Jr.’s “official address.”
“He receives mail there. His driver’s license is registered there. His automobile is registered there. His voting registration is from there. His hunting, fishing, falconry, and wildlife rehabilitation licenses are from there. He pays rent to the owner,” the campaign said.
The statement went on to say that his law office is in New York and he pays taxes in the Empire State.
“His father was senator from New York. New York has been his residence continuously since 1968 although he has frequently lived elsewhere. He has never claimed any other state as a residency,” the campaign statement said.
“He intends to move back to New York after his wife [Cheryl Hines] retires from acting. Mr. Kennedy has lived in the Town of Bedford (Katonah is a village within Bedford) continuously for 40 years. Since 2014, his official residence was on Twin Lakes Road in Bedford a few miles from his current residence. He typically stayed at that residence two times each month.
“When Mr. Kennedy announced his presidential candidacy, that landlord, worried about becoming embroiled in political controversy, asked Mr. Kennedy to find another residence. Mr. Kennedy’s best friend invited him to move into his Croton Lake Road residence in which Mr. Kennedy had been a frequent guest. Mr. Kennedy transferred his residence in June 2023.
“Since embarking on his presidential campaign, Mr. Kennedy has constantly been traveling in other states. During the 11 months since switching residences, he, therefore, has not had occasion to stay at his Croton Lake Road home, which explains why neighbors have not seen him.”
Kennedy’s brother Doug told The Post on Sunday that his brother has lived on and off at the Croton Road address with friends Haydock and Moss for quite some time.
“He lived with Tim and Barbara. He stayed with them for a number of years,” Doug said — adding that his sibling still resides there when in New York.
RFK Jr. also told The Post in a text Sunday night: “Barbara and Tim are in litigation. They are appealing the foreclosure [on the property he lists as residence].”
Moss did not return a Post request seeking comment.
On Sunday, no one was at the home, an upscale suburban, two-story farm-style house with blue shutters and a chimney with a white fence and manicured lawn.
A package in front was addressed to Moss, who secured a $284,800 mortgage for the property in 1991, with an interest rate of 7.875%.
Neighbors were surprised and amused that Kennedy was listed in voting records as a neighbor.
“We’ve lived here about 12 years, and it’s always been [Moss and Haydock],” said next-door neighbor Kerry McGill.
Asked if she had seen RFK Jr. around, McGill replied, “I have not.”
But she wishes she had.
“It’s pretty cool if he actually was living there,” McGill said.
Darren Baker, another neighbor who has resided on the block for five years, said of Kennedy’s reputed residency, “Totally news to me. I had no idea. I’m surprised.”
The presidential hopeful’s most recent addresses listed in property searches are 2975 Mandeville Canyon Road in Los Angeles and 124 Washington St. in Foxboro, Mass.
RFK Jr. is recorded as having resided at two different addresses on North and South Bedford roads in nearby Mount Kisco in Westchester County from the mid-1990s to 2014, too.
