Written by Peter A Dowling, season one saw Nolan (Armitage) arrested at London's Heathrow Airport following his return flight from Beijing, where he'd been away on business.
While in China, Nolan was involved in a car crash with a woman who is now suspected dead, despite him claiming he was alone in the car.
Nolan is escorted back to Beijing by DC Hana Li to face charges, but their flight proves to be anything but plain sailing.
According to ITV, episode one reached an audience of 8.3 million viewers across all devices with the series receiving 29.3 million streams on ITVX to date.
Red Eye season one is available to stream now on ITVX.
