Ryan Reynolds explains Deadpool & Wolverine tribute to Rob Delaney's late son
Ryan Reynolds has opened up about Deadpool & Wolverine's tribute to Rob Delaney's late son Henry.
In the MCU film's end credits, the words "For Henry Delaney" are displayed on screen in honour of Delaney's young son, who sadly passed away in 2018 at the age of two after a battle with brain cancer.
Reynolds has now taken to Instagram to reflect on the tribute, as well a praise Delaney for his performance as Peter in the Deadpool films.

"Rob Delaney brought PeterPool (née Sugarbear) into our hearts and effortlessly redefined the modern moose-knuckle — showing it can be chic AND practical. And if theories are correct, he may be the new Anchor Being," the actor began.
"There’s more to @robdelaney than some realize. He’s one of the most subversively funny people I know. He’s a beautiful, acerbic and vulnerable writer.
"If you stayed through the credits of Deadpool & Wolverine, you might notice a credit saying, 'For Henry Delaney'. Henry is Rob’s son. And Rob lost his little boy to a brain tumour in 2018. Right as we finished Deadpool 2."

Reynolds went on to express his regret over not paying tribute to Henry in the credits of Deadpool 2.
"If there’s a bright side, even more people are seeing Henry’s name in the credits of Deadpool & Wolverine. And at long last, father and son are sharing the same screen," he continued.
Reynolds concluded by championing Delaney’s 2022 memoir A Heart That Works, calling it "an incredible piece of writing which explores the kaleidoscopic colors of emotion Henry’s passing revealed."
"I’m lucky to know Rob," he added. "And I’m lucky to have friends willing to put themselves on the line to make others feel less alone.”
Deadpool & Wolverine is out now in cinemas.
