Sarah Michelle Gellar has shared her affectionate reaction to her former Buffy The Vampire Slayer co-stars reuniting.

The Buffy Summer actor renewed her love for the three actors who played the main villains on the show's sixth season. Adam Busch, Danny Strong and Tom Lenk portrayed the villains known as The Trio and they recently posed for a throwback picture together.

Lenk, known for the role of Andrew Wells in the vampire series, prompted his follows to "caption this photo" on Instagram, leading Gellar to write a sweet message to her three pals.

Gellar commented: "Three people I adore." Strong, who played Jonathan Levinson on Buffy, wrote: "[Love] U TOO!!!"

The Trio is completed by Busch, whose Buffy character Warren Mears is best known for killing fan favourite Tara (Amber Benson).

Castle star Nathan Fillion, who played misogynistic villain Caleb in season 7, also shared his "love" for the gang in the comments.

"This was the last known sighting of Evelyn. (Far back left)," Fillion joked of a person who could be seen in the background of the shot. "If you have any information regarding her whereabouts, please call 1-800-HEY ITS THOSE GUYS FROM BUFFY I LOVE THEM."

First appeared in season five, the three villains are mortals who dabbles in spell casting and demon summoning with the intent to take over Sunnydale.

At first, they go unnoticed by Buffy and the Scooby Gang, who just assume their doings are the work of demons. Halfway through season six though, things take a dark turn, with the protagonist realising the baddies are closer than she thought.

At present, there's little chance the cast of Buffy will reunite for more than just casual hangouts. The Audible spinoff series Slayers: A Buffyverse Story was cancelled by Disney earlier this year after just one season.

Meanwhile, talks of a Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot seemed to have died down after being put on an indefinite hiatus in 2022. In January, Dolly Parton, who was a producer on the original series, assured Business Insider that the new iteration was still in the works, but there hasn't been an update since.
