For Sea Hear Now, NJ Transit adds extra trains to Asbury Park

Heading to Sea Hear Now this weekend in Asbury Park? On Saturday, Sept. 14, and Sunday, Sept. 15, NJ Transit's North Jersey Coast Line will operate additional trains between Bay Head and Long Branch.

Service will operate once an hour in both directions between Long Branch and Bay Head. Long Branch-bound trains will depart Bay Head once per hour from 7:18 a.m. until 11:35 p.m. Bay Head-bound trains will depart Long Branch once per hour from 8:35 a.m. until 12:47 a.m.

So let's say you leave Long Branch at 11:39 a.m. Saturday. You'll get to Asbury Park by 11:51 a.m. Coming from the south? If you leave Point Pleasant Beach at 11:26 a.m. Sunday, you'll get to Asbury Park by 11:46 a.m.

On Saturday, doors open at noon and music begins at 12:30 p.m.. On Sunday, doors open at 11:30 a.m. and music begins at 11:40 a.m. Noah Kahan is the headliner on Saturday, and Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band headline on Sunday.

NJ Transit advises customers "to carefully check printable train schedules for specific schedule times." Click here to view the schedule, which is good for Sept 14 and 15 only.

NJ Transit also suggests customers subscribe to the latest updates via text messages and emails via My Transit Alerts, through the TRANSIT Mobile App (including customized push notifications), by visiting Travel Alerts & Advisories for the latest service-related information.

About 35,000 people are expected to attend the festival, and there are road, beach, boardwalk and parking lot closures in Asbury Park.
