The Florida Senate has confirmed the appointment of John Hall as the Polk County representative on the Southwest Florida Water Management District’s governing board.

Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed Hall to the board last May. His term ends March 1, 2025. Hall is a former Polk County Commissioner.

Ashley Bell Barnett is the other Polk County representative on the board. The unpaid board members set policy for the district, whose mission is to protect water resources, minimize flood risks and ensure the public's water needs are met, the district said in a news release.
