Several agencies respond to garage fire in Madison County

NEW MARKET, Ala. (WHNT) — Moores Mill Volunteer Fire & Rescue said several agencies responded to help with a garage fire Wednesday morning.

Moores Mill Fire & Rescue said the fire occurred in a detached garage in the area of Bell Factory off Steakly Road and Pine Drive. The agency said it was an unattended controlled burn.

There are no reported injuries.

News 19 crews say Pine Drive is closed. The volunteer fire & rescue agency said drivers should avoid the area and take alternate routes due to possible traffic delays.

At 7:31 a.m., the volunteer fire & rescue agency said the fire was under control and crews were working to put it out.

Around 6:37 a.m., Moores Mill Volunteer Fire & Rescue said there was a structure fire.

The volunteer fire & rescue agency said New Market Volunteer Fire, Central Fire/EMs, Killingsworth Cove Volunteer Fire Department and Huntsville Fire responded to help control the fire.
