Slidell man pleads guilty in Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol breach investigation
SLIDELL, La. (WGNO) — A Slidell man has pled guilty to a felony charge for his actions during the Jan. 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol breach.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office reported that 30-year-old Charles Tyler Himber pled guilty to a felony charge of civil disorder on Monday, July 29.
Woman accused of stealing $700 in canes from Gentilly Woods business
Court documents state Himber participated in the “Stop the Steal” rally in Washington D.C. on Jan. 6, 2021, where he and others reportedly attempted to force themselves inside the U.S. Capitol building after pushing against police.
The district attorney’s office reported that Himber and others later made their way inside the building and “surged forward and into the Rotunda” before being removed by police.

Court documents state Himber “made several posts to Facebook on Jan. 6, 2021, including ‘Were in,’ ‘Making history,’ and ‘Storm in Capitol Hill is a go…draining the swamp manually…Evacuating Capitol Hill pushing back.'”
Himber was arrested on Feb. 16. His sentencing date has not yet been set.
