‘Someone out there knows who did this’: Palestine PD investigates hit-and-run involving pregnant woman

PALESTINE, Texas (KETK) – The Palestine Police Department is searching for a driver accused of hitting a pregnant woman in the 1500 block of East Palestine Avenue on Wednesday.

According to a release, the police department said that around 9:24 p.m. they received a report of the victim who was crossing the road with a group when she was struck by a vehicle. The vehicle reportedly failed to stop at the scene and continued east on Highway 79.

The victim was flown to a local hospital and remains in serious condition. Palestine PD said the victim who was pregnant, lost her child as a result of the crash.

The department said their dayslong investigation following leads have ended up being unrelated.

“The vehicle we are looking for will have damage to the front end and possibly one headlight. Someone out there knows who did this,” Palestine PD said.
