Taylor Swift's 3 Vienna Eras Tour Shows Canceled Due to Threats: 'We Have No Choice'

Taylor Swift will no longer be bringing the Eras Tour to Vienna.

Just one day before she was supposed to kick off her three-night run, government officials in Vienna confirmed the alarming news of a terrorist attack planned to take place during the singer's concert. All of Swift's shows scheduled for this weekend have now been canceled.

The news was confirmed on Wednesday, Aug. 8, by the official social media accounts for Taylor Nation.

The post confirmed the Vienna shows were canceled "due to government officials confirmation of a planned terrorist attack."

"With confirmation from government officials of a planned terrorist attack at Ernst Happel Stadium, we have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone's safety," the statement read.

The "Fortnight" songstress was initially supposed to play three shows in the Austrian capital this weekend, with concerts planned on Thursday, Aug. 8, Friday, Aug. 9 and Saturday, Aug. 10. Fans are expected to get refunded for their tickets within the next ten business days following the abrupt cancellation.

A statement has also been added to the official site for Swift's tour, confirming that ticketholders will be getting refunded.

Earlier on Wednesday it was reported that two people were arrested in connection with a suspected terror plot. A 19-year-old Austrian citizen was arrested in Ternitz, a town south of Vienna, on Wednesday morning, and another suspect was arrested Wednesday afternoon in the capital city.

Franz Ruf, the public security director at Austria's interior ministry, said in a press conference on Wednesday that both suspects had been radicalized online and made "concrete preparations for a terrorist attack," per CBS News.

The 19-year-old suspect is also believed to have pledged alliance to ISIS in July, and according to Ruf, had a "focus" on Swift's sold-out concerts scheduled in Vienna.

With the cancelation of her next three shows, Swift only has one more stop on the European leg of her Eras Tour—London, England. She is scheduled to play the first of five shows at Wembley Stadium starting Thursday, Aug. 15.
