It’s time to vote for the Mississippi Coast football Athlete of the Week for October 2

Week six of the high school football season is on the books. Though the slate was thin, it was another great Friday night of action on the Mississippi Coast.

Now is your chance to vote for athlete of the week. The full top performers list can be found here.

This week’s football players are nominated from Bay High, Biloxi, Hancock, D’Iberville, Long Beach, Resurrection and St. Stanislaus.

This is not a scientific poll, and you can vote as many times as you’d like until voting ends at noon Friday, Oct. 6, at www.sunherald.com.

Get to know the nominees here:

  • Jaylen Antoine, Bay High: Antoine rushed for 285 yards and three touchdowns andcaught a touchdown pass in the Tigers’ 40-18 win over Presbyterian Christian.

  • Jaylan Johnson, Biloxi: Johnson rushed for 109 yards and a score on 12 carries in a 55-22 win over LeFlore (Al.).

  • Andre Crosby, D’Iberville: Crosby ran for 193 yards and three touchdowns in the Warriors’ 63-31 win over Wayne County.

  • Zach Gullung, Hancock: Gullung amassed 194 yards rushing with two touchdowns and added 60 receiving yards and a touchdown catch in a 22-20 win over Florence.

  • Junior Brown, Long Beach: Brown ran for 174 yards and four touchdowns in the Bearcats’ 35-34 win over South Jones.

  • Daniel Pickens, Resurrection: Pickens rushed for 151 yards on 16 carries in the Eagles’ 56-26 win over Salem.

  • Ethan Galloway, St. Stanislaus: Galloway caught seven passes for 187 yards and a touchdown in a 23-14 win over Stone.
