It’s time to vote for the Mississippi Coast football Athlete of the Week for September 18

The fourth week of the high school football season is in the books and it was another great Friday night of action.

Now is your chance to vote for the best showing of the week. The full top performers list can be found here.

This week players are nominated from D’Iberville, Gautier, Hancock, Harrison Central, Ocean Springs and Long Beach and St. Stanislaus.

This is not a scientific poll, and you can vote as many times as you’d like until voting ends at noon on Friday, September 22, at www.sunherald.com.

Get to know the nominees here:

  • Kevin Rogers, D’Iberville: Rogers ran the ball 15 times for 129 yards and two touchdowns, plus caught a 37-yard touchdown pass in the Warriors’ 34-22 win over Pascagoula.

  • Kelvin Beavers, Gautier: Beavers caught eight passes for 135 yards and two touchdowns in the win over Moss Point.

  • Dylan Moran, Hancock: Moran completed 17 passes for 252 yards and four touchdowns in the Hawks’ 46-7 win over Petal.

  • Tri Gaughf, Harrison Central: Gaughf completed 13 of his passes for 215 yards and three touchdowns in the Red Rebels’ 55-26 win over Tylertown.

  • Junior Brown, Long Beach: Brown rushed for 328 yards and five touchdowns in Long Beach’s 34-20 win over Purvis, a win that snapped a 29-game losing streak.

  • Will Smith, Ocean Springs: Smith found the end zone five times on the ground in the Greyhounds’ 39-14 win over Natchez.

  • Ian Gonzalez Rioz, St. Stanislaus: Gonzalez Rioz was responsible for 424 total yards in the 24-20 win over Pass Christian, including 193 yards through the air and 231 yards on the ground with three total touchdowns.
