TRAFFIC ALERT: Another ramp closure along Akron’s Central Interchange

AKRON, Ohio (WJW) – Motorists who travel along the Central Interchange in Akron will want to note a ramp another closure and detour that is expected to be in place the rest of the summer.

According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, the ramp from State Route 8 southbound to Interstate 76 eastbound is now closed through late August for bridge reconstruction. The closure was set up on Monday, July 8 at 10 p.m.

The detour is I-76 west to I-76 Kenmore Leg to I-277 east to I-77 north to I-76 east.

ODOT also noted some other traffic updates related to the Akron Beltway project:

• The ramp from I-77 southbound to Archwood Ave. is closed through late July.

• The ramp from I-77 southbound to Waterloo Rd. is closed through late August.
