Trump and Vance set to return to Michigan on Friday
Former President Donald Trump and his running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, will return to Michigan on Friday for election campaign rallies.
Vance is scheduled to speak at 1 p.m. at the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport in Portage. Trump will speak at Macomb Community College in Warren at 4:30 p.m.
The Trump campaign said in an announcement that the auto industry is the backbone of the state's economy and both men are expected to discuss it, as well as inflation and other issues related to the economy.
The Warren rally will mark Trump's 15th visit to Michigan since February and his third stop in pivotal Macomb County. The Republican presidential nominee visited MCC in September and also stopped at a Roseville campaign office in August. Vance also has stopped in Macomb.
Vance's appearance will be his 11th in Michigan and his second this week after appearing in Saginaw Township on Tuesday.

Democratic nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris and running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, also have focused on Michigan. Walz is expected to make three campaign stops in Michigan on Friday, with one each in Detroit, Flint and Traverse City.
Both campaigns are prioritizing Michigan as polling shows the race here to be virtually tied.
