Two BBC stars lead cast for new "high-stakes" British prison drama
Two BBC stars have been cast in a new "high-stakes" crime drama coming to Sky.
Prisoner will star Tahar Rahim and Izuka Hoyle, who appeared in The Serpent and Boiling Point respectively.
The Sky Original action-thriller will tell the story of "a principled young prison officer escorting a dangerous, high-value prisoner to court to testify against his elite crime syndicate," according to a synopsis.
Rahim takes on the role of the prisoner, Tibor Stone, while Hoyle stars as Amber Todd, the prison officer, whose transport convoy is "brutally ambushed."

"As the sole survivors, Amber and Tibor are forced to go on the run. They must work together to reach their destination alive and on time," the synopsis continues.
"Throughout the journey, their relationship twists and turns, with the stakes escalating as the crime syndicate stops at nothing to track them down. Amber can trust no one—least of all the killer she is handcuffed to.
"But as everything she holds dear hangs in the balance, she must confront an impossible question: what moral lines is she willing to cross?"
It will be directed by Peaky Blinders' Otto Bathurst with BAFTA and Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Matt Charman penning the script.
