‘Very dangerous’ suspect found dead in Terrebonne Parish home

TERREBONNE PARISH, La. (WGNO) — The search for a Houma man, who deputies considered “very dangerous,” has ended after he was found dead on Wednesday, July 10.

According to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office, at 1 am. on Wednesday, deputies received anonymous information about the location of 45-year-old Gilbert “Muckus” Moses. He was allegedly seen walking in the Smithridge area in Chauvin near a local gym.

When deputies arrived, they searched the area and a home in the 4800 block of Highway 56 but were not able to find Moses.

Three hours later, deputies responded to a caller who said that Moses was in her home and “unresponsive.”

Deputies went to the home to find Moses’ body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Based on the investigation, medics at the scene disclosed that he “suffered no signs of obvious trauma or foul play” related to his death.

Terrebonne Parish authorities state that this is an ongoing investigation and information will be released as it become available.
