Watch RNC co-chair Lara Trump's speech at the Republican National Convention

Lara Trump took the podium at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee in the closing slot Tuesday and struck a moderately conciliatory tone in the wake of an assassination attempt on her father-in-law and Republican nominee Donald Trump.

Trump was shot at during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania Saturday, leaving two people, including the shooter, dead and two people critically injured. Trump was hit in the ear by a bullet but was otherwise unharmed.

Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20. was identified by the Federal Bureau of Investigation as the shooter and an investigation into his motives is ongoing.

Lara Trump pointed to the first term of the Former President to argue for the nominee's reelection. She noted that gas reached a record low under the Trump administration, however, that mark was set during the depths of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lara Trump, former President Donald Trump's daughter in-law, became the RNC co-chair in March after serving as an advisor to his 2020 campaign.

The Republican National Convention is in Milwaukee through Thursday where former President Donald Trump on Thursday will formally accept the party’s nomination for the 2024 Election.

When and where is the Republican National Convention?

The Republicans' convention will take place over four days, from July 15-18 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The Fiserv Forumhome of the Milwaukee Bucks, will be the main venue for the RNC.

There also will be events at the nearby University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panther Arena and the Baird Center.
