Through first-hand interviews with survivors, authorities and victim family members, Worst Ex Ever paints a terrifying picture of intimate partner violence.
While each episode captures a new situation, many viewers have been left wondering what happened to the abusive exes at the core of each show. From prison sentences to even more unexpected twists, read on to learn about the fates of the show’s despicable exes.
What happened to Benjamin Foster from Worst Ex Ever?
The first episode of Worst Ex Ever tells the story of a woman pulled into a domestic abuse situation between her friend Justine and her boyfriend of two months, Benjamin Foster.
Foster already had a history of domestic and criminal abuse and when his partner Justine discovered this, things turned ugly between herself and her new partner.
After breaking up, Benjamin began stalking Justine, eventually holding her hostage for a period before she was able to escape. A police manhunt followed, sending Benjamin on the run before he was eventually captured and arrested.
A stand-off with police followed, ultimately ending in Benjamin taking his own life via a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was 36 years old.
What happened to Jerry Ramrattan from Worst Ex Ever?
In episode two, Worst Ex Ever takes us inside the relationship between financial advisor Seemona Sumasar and police officer Jerry Ramrattan. However, after two seemingly normal years together, Seemona makes a shocking discovery when she learns that Jerry isn’t who he claims to be.
Despite learning that Jerry had a wife and kids, she still allowed him to continue living with her. It was during this period that he sexually assaulted her, resulting in his arrest. However, whilst out on bail, Jerry framed Seemona for a series of robberies, manipulating witnesses and faking evidence to ultimately get her arrested.
Facing up to 25 years in prison and separated from her 12-year-old daughter, Seemona’s innocence was only proven when the people Jerry had forced to lie on his behalf finally fessed up. Today, Seemona has thankfully managed to move on with her life and is working as a flight attendant.
Meanwhile, Jerry is currently serving a 32-year prison sentence for a variety of charges including rape, perjury, witness tampering and conspiracy. Despite this — and the facts — Jerry still maintains his innocence.
What happened to Rosa and Mei from Worst Ex Ever?
Episode three of Worst Ex Ever tells the real-life events that occurred between the seemingly shy Rosa Hill and her husband Eric, whom she met on a group hike. It depicts an unforgettable tale of manipulation as Rosa’s control issues lead to the deterioration of their marriage.
Following the split, Rosa becomes so determined to regain custody of her kids that she devises a plan to kill her ex’s 91-year-old grandmother and frame Eric for the murder.
Working with her mother Mei, the duo ultimately achieved their goal — a plan they had called ‘Operation Custody’ - but when Eric discovers his grandmother’s body, the duo attack him too.
As the episode shows, it took a while for detectives to figure out exactly what had happened and how things had reached this point. However, justice was eventually served, with both Rosa and her mother Mei currently living through a 25-year prison sentence.
What happened to Kevin Lewis from Worst Ex Ever?
The final episode of Worst Ex Ever shows a seemingly normal relationship that turns progressively darker when Kevin Lewis becomes abusive and violent towards his wife Amanda. When she asks for a divorce and Kevin risks losing custody of the couple’s children, his abuse ramps up even further.
Flitting between violence and an obsessive want to try and keep his broken family together, things come to a head when Kevin attacks and almost kills Amanda. Luckily, she’s able to call the police before it’s too late, leading to Kevin’s arrest and a restraining order being issued.
Time passed as Amanda tried to move on with her life but unfortunately, the worst was yet to come. After waking to the sound of gunshots, she discovered her sister, who had been living with her at the time, had been murdered in her house.
It later transpired that Lewis had hired his cousin and his girlfriend to murder Amanda but they had accidentally shot her sister by mistake. Lewis’s cousin and his partner were eventually arrested and sentenced to 32 and 15 years behind bars respectively. Meanwhile, Kevin is currently serving a life sentence for his role in the murder.
