White County deputy, several inmates injured in crash on Highway 67 in Bald Knob

BALD KNOB, Ark. – A White County deputy and several inmates were injured in a Thursday morning crash in Bald Knob, according to officials with the White County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the deputy was transporting three inmates to Newport when he lost control of the vehicle on Highway 67/167. Officials with the Arkansas Department of Transportation reported the crash around 8:32 a.m.

Authorities said the deputy and inmates were injured in the crash and were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Deputies said that everyone involved in the crash is expected to make a full recovery.

Police officials have not released information on the cause of the crash.
