Whoopi Goldberg Sends a Pointed Message to Donald Trump on ‘The View’
On the Sept. 30 episode of The View, Whoopi Goldberg and the rest of the cast discussed recent events, including controversial comments from presidential candidate Donald Trump. And she didn't hesitate to send a direct message to the former POTUS.
The cast discussed Trump calling Vice President Kamala Harris "mentally disabled" as well as his comments about police when he claimed that "if you had one really violent day," all crime "would end immediately," leading many to compare his proposal with the fictional horror film The Purge.
Goldberg said, "It's exhausting," before calling Trump "unhinged" and questioning why there was so much talk about President Joe Biden's age and mental capacities, yet, "I haven't heard jack"—catching herself before she swore—"about the insanity that this man continues to sprout."
Later on, as they talked about Trump's problematic statements about the police, Sunny Hostin said she hopes "that people are paying attention to what he is saying."
Goldberg might've let her emotions get the best of her then, as she replied, "I think people aren't paying attention...your shock value has worn off. We know you're gonna say stupid s--t."
This time around, Goldberg couldn't stop herself before she swore, but luckily, the producers caught and censored it in time. She jokingly excused her mistake by saying, “I told you I don’t feel good."
Moving on, Goldberg called this "the norm" before saying of Trump, " I don't care about him anymore. I don't."
Before talking about Trump, the hosts of The View discussed the vice presidential debate between Tim Walz and JD Vance, set for Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET. The hosts talked about the questions they wanted answered and wondered what the debate's effect might be on the population of American voters.
