Willie Mae 'Big Mama' Thornton, original 'Hound Dog' hitmaker, to be inducted in Rock & Roll Hall of Fame early influence category

Big Mama Thornton was the first to record "Hound Dog" in 1953 while signed to Houston's Peacock Records, run by Don Robey in Fifth Ward. Now this rock pioneer is set to get her flowers in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
