Witnesses sought in deadly US 85 crash involving underwater vehicle

DENVER (KDVR) — One person was killed in a crash along U.S. 85 on Thursday afternoon, and Colorado State Patrol is looking for a witness.

CSP told FOX31 that the call came in just before 1 p.m. One vehicle crashed after going off of the roadway just northeast of the intersection of U.S. 85 and Colorado Highway 60, and one person was killed.

It is unknown what led to the crash, but CSP told FOX31 that a vehicle was submerged. CSP does not know whether the person was inside of the vehicle when it went underwater.

SkyFOX flew over the scene as responders towed an SUV from a body of water.

Now, CSP is asking anyone who may have seen the vehicle go off the road to contact them by calling *277.
