Woman hit, killed by vehicle on Chef Menteur Highway
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle near the Michoud neighborhood on Thursday, July 18.
Around 10:28 p.m., New Orleans Police Department officers were called to the scene of a crash in the 13700 block of Chef Menteur Highway.

An investigation revealed that a woman was walking in the area when an undescribed vehicle struck her and drove off.
An officer driving in the area said they spotted an unresponsive woman lying in the left lane of the road. She was pronounced dead.
Officers are investigating the incident as a hit-and-run.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the woman’s name after an autopsy is done and the family is notified.
