UPDATE: Woman missing in Champaign found, sheriff confirms

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — A woman reported missing from Champaign has been found safe.

After being missing for a week, officials with the Champaign Police Department said Destiny Confer was no longer listed as such as in their database. The McLean County Sheriff’s Office then confirmed that officers in Urbana made contact with her.

Urbana Police then told WCIA that Confer was located in the area of Lincoln Avenue and Kettering Park Drive, and she appeared to be ok. Officers met with her and the Confer family at a nearby hotel.

After that meeting, Urbana Police said Confer left the hotel with friends.


CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Authorities in both Champaign and McLean County are actively looking for a woman reported missing last week.

McLean County Sheriff Matthew Lane said his office took a missing person’s report on July 10 for Destiny Confer. The person calling was from Saybrook, but Confer was last seen in Champaign.

Vermilion Co. Sheriff’s Dept. searching Rankin for missing man

Champaign Police confirmed that they canvassed the address where Confer was known to stay, but did not find her. The search remains ongoing.

Confer is a 25-year-old white woman with hazel eyes and blonde hair. She is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs approximately 120 pounds.
