NOPD officials later announced Ryan’s arrest in connection with the investigation.

According to the NOPD, Ryan is not related to the child and is facing a charge of falsifying a police report.

NOPD investigators also said the child’s mother was identified and located. However, “the mother is not currently able to physically care for the child. As such, the child will remain in the custody of the Louisiana Department of Child and Family Services as the situation is further assessed.”

Anyone with information about the case can call the NOPD Special Victims Division Child Abuse Unit at 504-658-5267.
