Watch 'Jungle Cruise' stars Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt zing each other with explosive allegations
Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt clearly developed a chummy rapport while collaborating on Jungle Cruise, Disney's upcoming adventure based on the popular theme park ride. That was evident Saturday at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, Calif., where the pair's attempts to zing each other may have been taken a little bit too far by the man otherwise known as The Rock.
Asked if they prepared for the film by boarding Disneyland's classic boat ride over and over, Blunt fired the first shot.
"He gets motion sickness, so that wasn't part of the prep," she cracked about her co-star.
"She gets diarrhea when she goes on rides," Johnson clapped back. "How about that, huh?"
"That is horrible," an embarrassed Blunt lamented as Johnson laughed. "Oh God, you just made me blush. … I don't do that, at all!"
Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and costarring Jesse Plemons and Paul Giamatti, Jungle Cruise follows a group of travelers on a riverboat where they encounter not only dangerous exotic animals, but a mysterious supernatural element as well.
The film is Disney's latest attempt at replicating the blockbuster success of the Pirates of the Caribbean series, which was also based on one of the Magic Kingdom’s most famous attractions.
"Just to be transported to this incredible world and that sense of travel and adventure and just a rich tapestry for audiences to escape to," Blunt said. "And it's based on a ride, which just has oodles of nostalgia and so much to kind of mine for us creatively, so it was very cool."
Jungle Cruise opens July 24, 2020.
