Animal Style, the Dior Way

Dior showed their fall collection in Paris on Friday morning, and anyone who loves fashion will tell you that attending a Dior show is like going to church to pray: the fashion crowd is happy to pay homage to Dior. What can be said about the fall/winter 2015 show? Well, the set was large and bright and pink! The collection was inspired by animal instincts, by their savagery and their sinister ways, a 180 from one year ago when the collection was all gardens and flowers.

Accessories included variations of the ‘Diorama’ in similar prints and colors to the clothing, necklaces resembled chain collars, and earrings looked like paper clips. The shoes were a continuation from couture: PVC thigh-high boots and 3/4 length booties with perspex heels. Creative director Raf Simons sent a very clear message: there’s a new Dior woman. She’s fierce, strong and not to be messed with, especially when she’s wearing her camouflage jumpsuit with patent leather thigh-high boots in the same print.

Grammy Award-winning singer Lorde sat front row for the first time and told Yahoo Style that she thought the show was “Amazing!” And if Lorde says it is so, then it is official: Dior, animal style is a winner!
