Bella Hadid Keeps Forgetting Her Pants — on Purpose
Bella Hadid is making the case for leaving your pants at home during Paris Fashion Week.
The model of the moment has embraced the risqué pantless trend between shows not once, but twice — and both times managed to give the tricky-to-wear trend that has been embraced by the likes of Kylie Jenner, Hailey Baldwin, and Kristen Stewart a new, surprising twist.
First, Hadid was seen out and about on the streets of Paris in a boxy, suited version of the leg-baring look that creatively played with proportions. Donning a menswear-inspired, cherry-red suit jacket from Area, Hadid appeared comfortably chic in the oversized iteration, which featured a wide-lapel; long, knuckle-grazing sleeves; and a single, black button closure. She balanced the look with a pair of classic, seasonally appropriate, over-the-knee boots, a simple Charlotte Simone black hat, and a small, structured Dior bag — because when your outfit is this fashion forward, nothing adds a little polish like some classic accessories.
Interestingly enough, the look can’t help but be a bit reminiscent of another bright, cherry red suit worn by Hadid’s sister, Gigi, at last year’s iHeartRadio Much Music Video Awards. But while Bella’s take is all about being bottomless, Gigi’s was all about a dramatically flared trouser. (The Hadid sisters: so alike, yet so different. But back to Paris.)
Less than a day later, Bella was spotted in a boldly colored, athleisure twist on the no-pants trend. Trading in her boxy blazer for a bomber jacket on the way to a Tommy Hilfiger dinner with her sister and current Tommy style star, Bella donned a red, yellow, and navy blue parka over a graphic, oversize T-shirt whose front featured a kitschy Tommy Hilfiger action cartoon. Her previously seen (and still sexy as hell) over-the-knee boots made a second appearance, but this time they were worn over a pair of black fishnet tights, and the model’s hair was sleekly pulled back from her face so as not to compete with her colorful ensemble.
But this, of course, is not the model’s first time hitting the streets sans trousers. Last November, Bella was spotted on the sidewalks of New York wearing nothing but a black fur jacket, oversized gray T-shirt, and sheer Alexander Wang “girls” tights. And then there are the fashion campaigns, including her recent racy photo shoot with Mario Sorrenti for V Magazine and her appearance in Riccardo Tisci‘s first post-Givenchy campaign for Nike, which found the model posing pantless on the lap of Tisci himself.
Because if you’ve got it, flaunt it? Again, and again, and again.
