Foil-Faced Models Walk the Runway at Rick Owens
The Rick Owens show happened earlier tonight in Paris and don’t worry, there were no exposed private parts like at the men’s show! This time the theatrics were kept to the neutral, heartily draped clothing and the 14 girls whose faces were covered in gold or silver foil courtesy of makeup artist Lucia Pieroni and M.A.C Cosmetics. It reportedly took a half hour to create these “Gold Leaf Mayan Goddesses,” which caused me to take a closer look at the running order of the girls. Not all of them won the foil lottery! Why were some adorned and others were not? Did Pieroni run out of time or out of the material? No, it must be some secret Mayan calculation courtesy of Owens!
What did it all mean? Perhaps I am just reading too much into it? Maybe I should just appreciate the creativity of the designer and his wife and muse, Michele Lamy! After all, a Rick Owens girl is not like the rest, they are always ahead of everyone else with their unique style and thank heavens for them to never follow the crowd. Plus the show was Kardashian Nation free! Thank the gods for that alone!
