Victoria’s Secret Confirms That Kendall Jenner’s Getting Her Angel Wings

Gigi Hadid always dreamed of becoming a Victoria’s Secret model. When she wasn’t chosen to walk in the show last year, she took the rejection really hard and hit the gym twice a day and basically became a pro boxer. She went back in front of the casting agents last week, showed off her more defined muscles and walked with a better bounce, and booked the gig. But while Hadid’s been vocal about her aspirations, Kendall Jenner has been quietly cozying up to Karl Lagerfeld and Anna Wintour and happily posing in her underwear for Calvin Klein. But, according to Twitter, the 20-year-old will be joining her friends on the catwalk come Nov. 10.

The brand shadily confirmed the news in a subtweet that the famous sister is set to get her wings and can be seen flaunting her small body on the broadcast of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on CBS on Dec. 8. Jenner also posted an Instagram relaying her excitement. “The best birthday present EVER! always been one of my biggest dreams to be on this catwalk. @victoriassecret ’s newest recruits. oh and I get to do it with my best friend ??,” she wrote in a caption alongside an illustration of Jenner and Hadid as Victoria’s Secret Service agents.

So is this news surprising? Not really. The lingerie company is one of the most popular purveyors of undergarments in the world and spends millions hiring the hottest women to push their products.

And Jenner’s presence is seemingly worth the pretty penny the company will have to pony up to have her. By bringing on Hadid and Jenner, it’s securing at least a few Instagram posts (they have 47 million followers between them), tweets, Snapchats, and possibly even a few links directly to products. Victoria’s Secret is already one of the most popular brands on social media (24 million Instagram followers, 8.33 million on Twitter). Combine the company’s handle with the Angels’s fans and it certainly takes the cake. But Jenner holds the record for the most “liked” image on the photo sharing service so who wouldn’t want to take advantage of that engaged audience?
