Jennifer Lawrence Wears Short Shorts

If there was ever any doubt that Jennifer Lawrence is the celebrity you’d most want to be your BFF, she went and squashed any of those lingering feelings with her latest look.

Spotted in New York City’s Tribeca neighborhood, the Hunger Games actress wore a rag & bone gray sweater with short denim cut offs from the same brand. Simple enough, she added a long gold necklace with wings, wide-brimmed Panama hat, and two-toned Ray-Ban Wayfarers to make her ensemble a little less basic.

Even though the actress was out apartment-hunting — a laborious task, as any New Yorker or real estate aficionado knows — she chose to wear platform peep-toe heels over sensible flats (anything for fashion, right?). She also carried a black, white, and burgundy Elizabeth and James basketweave bucket bag, which seemed to be all that she could handle, because she had a man friend/bodyguard/personal assistant tote her little dog, Pippi, for her.

Remaining cool while looking cool in the summertime isn’t easy, but the 24-year-old seems to know the trick: basics in neutral hues. The day before, she stepped out in a black Isabel Marant miniskirt, light gray T-shirt, and black wedge mules. She also wore the same delicate gold necklace and bag. So next time you’re braving the muggy (and mean) Manhattan streets, take a style cue from J.Law. You’ll thank her for it.
