Exclusive! Kendall Jenner Prays Before Shows & Gigi Hadid Loves Her Man

Being single in New York City calls for a major Galentine’s Day, but instead of cracking open a bottle of wine drowning my sorrows in an episode of Sex and the City on TV, I headed downtown to spend it with Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid. (How many people have done that?) Though I’d like to say the girls called me because Taylor Swift couldn’t make dinner and Hailey Baldwin’s flight was canceled, Jenner and Hadid were actually stationed in Bookmarc—Marc Jacobs’ hip book and trinket store on the corner of Bleecker Street—to sign copies of their super hot issue of LOVE magazine.
Outside, the crowd was everything I imagined it would be…and more! Jendid fans (Like what I did there?) began lining up in the frigid temps around 2:45 pm for the 7 pm call time. When I got there at 6:45 pm, the mob had formed a line that wrapped around an entire city block. Inside there were girls with posters who were crying tears of joy, and of course, every one of them was angling for selfies with the models. Hadid couldn’t have been more willing to pose for pics, but only one lucky fan got a shot with Jenner, who was turning people away because she “didn’t want to get anyone sick.”
In the corner, Katie Grand—LOVE magazine’s editor-in-chief—dressed in her best Prada and clogs, hung out with a posse of Brits. Marc Jacobs swung in at one point to say hello in a fabulous fur coat. (Of course both of the girls were wearing his sequin designs.)
Once the shop reached maximum capacity, the police were summoned to escort Hadid to her car. The crowd was so rowdy that she forgot to say bye to Jenner, which did not go unnoticed by the model. Though getting a copy of the signed mag was almost impossible, I did manage to talk to the two about fashion week, their ideal (date) nights, and whether or not we can expect to see them on the runway this week.

On her social plans for fashion week…I normally hate going out to events and stuff. I’m such a homebody! I love watching movies, ordering food, and eating in, but during fashion week I want to go to as many events as I can.
On what inspires her…I love being inspired by what people are wearing. I love being with all of my friends. All of my friends come and are in New York or London or wherever fashion week is at the same time and the same place. And that’s so fun for me because usually they’re all over the world so it brings us all together. Like a reunion!
On scouting outfits she spots on the runway…So last year I went to the Prabal show and I saw this white suit and I said “I need that” and I wore it to the AMA’s two months later. At the Cushnie Et Ochs show this fashion week there were five things that I saw and knew I wanted. If I happen to be at the show, I take pictures or if not I’ll screenshot what I see on Instagram.
What her boyfriend Cody Simpson thinks about her having to work on Valentine’s Day…Cody has been so awesome today. He’s been hanging out with me while I’ve been going to fittings and meetings. He was here for a little bit. He’s really supportive and I’m going to go hang out with him now. He’s awesome.
On her ideal date night…I’d probably be at dinner with my boyfriend. Any kind of sushi. Or just good food, and a good movie.

On having fans line up around a city block to see her…It’s great. It means I have a lot of Valentines, doesn’t it?
On what she’d be doing if she wasn’t working at night…In my hotel room eating room service.
On whether she’ll be walking in New York Fashion Week show….I am, but you’re not getting that much out of me.
On her pre-runway rituals…I pray. What I pray for is personal. I give myself a little pep talk. I usually don’t get very nervous but today [before the Alexander Wang show] I did so I had to chill myself out. But it ended up being good.
