Kendall Jenner Steals the Veil From Cara Delevingne at Chanel

In just over a year, Kendall Jenner has gone from walking in her first fashion show (Marc Jacobs Fall/Winter 2014) to closing one of the grandest runways in the entire fashion universe. On Tuesday morning in Paris, the model of the moment dethroned her good friend Cara Delevingne (who’s an accomplished actress, don’t you know?) to close the casino-themed Fall/Winter 2015 Haute Couture Chanel show.
In line with the couture collection tradition of featuring a bridal look for the final walk, the 19-year-old traversed the runway (aka casino floor) of Grand Palais as a ‘80s-style vixen in an off-white power suit. (The look was reminiscent of something you might have seen Sharon Stone wear in Casino.) The slim-fitting ensemble included a boxy blazer with shoulders so padded they could serve as a headrest after a long night at the blackjack tables, satin trousers, and a cascading tulle cape that was attached to the back of the jacket. (Take note, Lagerfeld thinks that that headpiece veils are outdated.) Chanel’s signature flower, the Camellia, appeared on buttons, a brooch, and a clip that held together Jenner’s angular slick bob wig. She rocked bold eyebrows, punchy red lips, and a modish French manicure with black tips (instead of white).

At the end of the runway, Jenner struck a sassy pose and a knowing glance: her gamble of going into the wild world of modeling has paid off.
