Meghan Markle Is Shuttering Her Lifestyle Blog the Tig
In good and bad news for Meghan Markle fans, it looks as if the blogger-turned-potential-royal’s life is taking yet another turn. Markle has officially shuttered her longtime lifestyle blog, the Tig.

In her farewell address, Markle simply writes that “it’s time” to end the blog. “What began as a passion project (my little engine that could) evolved into an amazing community of inspiration, support, fun and frivolity,” she continues. “You’ve made my days brighter and filled this experience with so much joy. Keep finding those Tig moments of discovery, keep laughing and taking risks, and keep being ‘the change you wish to see in the world.’”
Her sweet goodbye on Instagram also mentions commenters she has “hugged from afar” by name. There’s no mention of the elephant in the room — Markle’s relationship with Prince Harry. She described the Tig as a “hub for the discerning palate — those with a hunger for food, travel, fashion & beauty.” Does it behoove a future potential “Her Royal Highness Princess Henry of Wales” to keep a public account of her travels, let alone her opinions and tastes? And the bigger question: Would Kensington Palace allow it?
In a sign that points to “No,” all pages on the Tig now redirect to the farewell address. Even posts about Markle’s favorite meals or tips for throwing a bachelorette party are no longer accessible without a cached browser.
Publications like Vanity Fair had already turned to the site as a source of insight into the low-key couple’s relationship. To be fair, the site was hardly a diary: Markle’s posts seemingly contained such innocuous information as favorite playlists, vacation destinations, and advice on how to be sustainable.
As recently as last December, Markle wrote for Elle about her reality as a mixed-race actress in Hollywood. “While my mixed heritage may have created a grey area surrounding my self-identification, keeping me with a foot on both sides of the fence, I have come to embrace that. To say who I am, to share where I’m from, to voice my pride in being a strong, confident mixed-race woman,” she wrote.
Even with the Tig departed — and even with potential new royal handlers in her life — we have a feeling that Markle won’t be keeping her voice down for long.
