The Crazy Couture of Miss Universe 2015

Is Miami the new Milan? It’s Miss Universe show time and the preliminary rounds are underway, with the most outrageous style—from glittery gowns to cultural kimonos to a Marie Antoinette-inspired, hockey goal gown adorned with a Stanley Cup tiara. Yes, the girls have gone wild, and Yahoo Style approves these over-the-top looks.

For the costume portion of the preliminary show, contestants were asked to prepare an ensemble based on the theme of their home country. The result was shocking—fabulous, really. From Miss Ireland’s 17th century sexy armor to Miss Thailand’s ancient goddess look with accessories, we look at our favorite looks from last night’s dazzling show.
