Nasty Gal’s Sophia Amoruso Will Be the “Most Covered Bride Ever”

Sophia Amoruso may not be the CEO of Nasty Gal anymore, but she sure is busy. There are stores to open, collaborations to launch, poodles to adopt, and a wedding to plan!
First up, Amoruso’s second brick and mortar store opened in Santa Monica this weekend. She says swimwear and shoes were most in demand, specifically her new collaboration with Teva. “I don’t love ugly shoes, but I don’t mind comfortable ones,” Amoruso tells Yahoo Style of the unexpected collab. “I’ve adopted a bit of the flatform trend—it’s great for weekend brunches, flea market trips, or just running errands. Low profile sandals can come off a bit Jesus-y at times.”

With her second store opening behind her, the New York Times Bestselling author of Girl Boss has an even bigger project in front of her: a wedding. You might be surprised to hear that Amoruso, who’s turned tiny dresses into must-haves, will “be the most covered bride ever.” She says she’s going totally “traditional,” when it comes to the dress, but not the jewelry. “As far as rings go, I am just not the ‘one big rock’ kind of girl—my engagement ring has eight stones and looks more like a Menorah than a ring, and my wedding band will be equally unexpected!” We’ll be first in line for Nasty Gal’s fine jewelry collection.
How does Amoruso stay sane with so much going on? Poodles and cooking. If you follow the Nasty Gal founder on Instagram, you know she has two fluffy dogs (one’s named Donna Summer) and she wants one more. We’d place our bets on one lucky poodle joining her family soon; what Amoruso wants, she gets.
