Sofia Richie Was Born in 1998 and Is Obsessed with ’90s Style

Sofia Richie is a big fan of chokers, branded clothing, and bandeau tops. If we didn’t know better, we’d say she was a ‘90s child. But she just turned 18…so this 1998-born beauty never really got to experience the ingenuity that was 1990s fashion.

Justin Bieber’s alleged boo is making up for lost time though, by rocking 90s looks day in and day out.

Let’s look at the evidence. For her recent birthday celebration, Richie chose track-style Adidas pants with the brand name plastered all over them (she wore a similar flashy jacket a few weeks before, and more track pants a few months before), paired with a spaghetti strap crop top and a thick choker. That’s looking a lot like Sporty Spice circa 1997. Just sayin’.

The day after her birthday, she rocked a velour bandeau top, ripped jeans, a sweatshirt around her waist, and Rihanna’s fur slides. It could only get more 90s if those slides were Adidas instead of Puma.

To top of all off, she’s been sporting a pair of cateye sunnies we’re pretty sure she borrowed from Julia Roberts’ ‘90s rom-com archives.

And last, but most certainly not least, is this number we like to call, fourth grade or confused tomboy. A spaghetti strap dress over a long sleep camo shirt she wore for Vogue China.

It’s as if she was the child of a music legend who made a major comeback in the 1990s and the little sister of a fashion mogul who was raised in the decade…oh wait…
