How Does the Style in MTV's ‘Siesta Key’ Compare With ‘Laguna Beach'?

MTV’s new reality show, Siesta Key, begins today. The new show comes from the same producers as Laguna Beach, so you know there is going to be major drama. Laguna Beach started 14 years ago, but looking back on images from the show, they still feel surprisingly contemporary — at least when it comes to fashion.

In Siesta Key we get further confirmation that a lot of the trends that were featured on Laguna Beach have stayed the same. There’s the choker trend — Kristin Cavallari wore a black fabric one in Season 2, and it appears that Siesta Key’s Juliette Porter rocks a chain choker. Also, hair gel is making a huge comeback, something that Stephen Colletti loved during his Laguna Beach days.
