There's something very surprising about Amal Clooney's tennis outfit
The work and red carpet wardrobe of human rights attorney Amal Clooney is something we can all admire, but few of us actually have the means to copy it. As a new mother of twins, she’s every bit as stylish, but on Thursday she actually wore something you might see on, well, anyone. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
The paparazzi snapped Amal and George Clooney either en route or coming home from a game of tennis in matching black outfits. George looks basically like someone’s tennis-playing dad in his polo shirt and long shorts. His wife, however, is still stunning in her ruffled tennis skirt, tank top, and visor. The top is from Sundek, the retro American surfer line revived by an Italian company in 2011, and according to Vogue‘s sleuths, it retails for $39. Unlike that elegant striped Elisabetta Franchi jumpsuit she wore on her date night last week, this is something truly within reach. At that price, you could even spring for a pink sports bra like hers!
This isn’t to say being the mother of Ella and Alexander, who were born on June 6, has changed Amal. In between her nights out in Lake Como and tennis matches, she managed to score a major human rights victory on Wednesday. Iraq and Great Britain announced they were working on a United Nations Security Council resolution to investigate war crimes ISIS has committed against the Yazidi people in Iraq. While representing Nadia Murad, a Yazidi woman who was captured, raped, and sold as a sex slave by the Islamic State group in Iraq, Clooney has been petitioning the UN for this to happen since 2016.
She probably has a mean first serve too.
