Vice President Joe Biden’s Next Job: Ray-Ban Spokesman?
During a campaign appearance in Tampa on Wednesday morning, Vice President Joe Biden whipped out his favorite pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses during a speech, much to the crowd’s amusement.
The 73-year-old then proceeded to joke about his hopes to work with the brand after he leaves office.

“Oh, sorry,” the VP said, gesturing toward the sun. “I’m doing this because maybe when I need a job, Ray-Ban may have me as a sponsor.”
This isn’t the first time he’s joked about his quest for a sponsorship. When asked how many pairs he owns during an interview with the Skimm last month, Biden said, “I think Ray-Ban should [sponsor me], I tell you what. I probably end up with four or five pairs a year because I put them down. Sometimes people steal them for souvenirs.”
Biden also shared with the crowd that he’s been wearing this particular style of aviator sunglasses since he was 15 years old. He’s often photographed wearing them during public appearances, and the glasses are even featured in some on his photos on Instagram.

President Obama has taken notice of his VP’s affinity for the classic shades. At a campaign rally in Philadelphia in 2010, the president referenced Biden’s signature sunglasses, saying, “I know part of the reason you’re fired up is because you’ve just heard from one of the finest vice presidents we will ever see in this country’s history, Joe Biden. Plus, Joe looks cool in those glasses too, doesn’t he?” He sure does.
