Update: Sept. 25, 2024 at 11:40 a.m. ET:
Following an in-hand look at a Halloween-themed Air Jordan 1 Low in August, official product images of the upcoming sneaker have surfaced, revealing even more unique features about this detail-packed pair.
From top to bottom, nearly every panel of the Air Jordan 1 Low “Halloween” has been considered to give the shoe a decidedly spooky season look. Specifically, the shoe takes inspiration from insects with web-like textures, fang flair and hyper-aware eyeballs peppered throughout the design. The mostly black colorway is accented with an iridescent flame-like pattern at the bottom and features a glow-in-the-dark outsole. However, the most intriguing element of this pair is the light-up eye on the tongue, which can be turned on and off with the press of a button.
Originally believed to be inspired by spiders or even Michael Jordan’s “Black Cat” nickname, Nike’s official product images reveal a new detail in the form of holographic cards that come packaged with the sneakers. The graphic depicts a fanged, winged insect which some sources are dubbing the “Fortune Fly,” however this backstory has yet to be confirmed by Jordan Brand.
This Air Jordan 1 Low is far from the only Halloween-sneaker readers will want to have on their radar. This month, Nike is releasing a similarly spooky Zoom Vomero 5 along with skull-adorned Air Force 1 Lows and Dunk Lows. On the basketball signature sneaker front, there are Halloween-inspired colorways coming for the Nike Book 1 and the just-revealed Nike Ja 2.
What is known is that this Air Jordan 1 Low “Halloween” will be released exclusively in grade school sizing, making it a timely choice for kids this fall season. With a full colorway of “Black/Green Frost/Black Raspberry/Green Strike” and a SKU of HQ3442-001, the sneakers are expected to retail for $120 and will be released sometime during October.

What We Originally Reported on Aug. 5, 2024
With fall fast approaching, another Halloween-themed sneaker has surfaced that should satisfy Air Jordan 1 aficionados.
Leaked images from reseller @prvt.selection give a first look at the upcoming Air Jordan 1 Low “Halloween.” Packed with details, the style mixes a variety of materials for a look that is suited for the spooky season. There’s an extra-hairy suede, spider web print on the toe box and what appears to be iridescent detailing throughout the heel.
Even the ropey shoelaces have been given a textured treatment reminiscent of cobwebs. The standout features, however, are glow-in-the-dark eyeball details on each tongue. All in all, this is the type of detailed execution that is usually reserved for special releases such as collaborations, so don’t be surprised if these are in high demand come October.
In addition to this release from Jordan Brand, some of Nike, Inc.’s other Halloween footwear plans have also emerged early. Nike Basketball is set to give Kobe Bryant’s Kobe 5 Protro sneaker an “X-ray” makeover complete with a glow-in-the-dark skeletal pattern.
A reflective spider web-printed Nike Dunk Low is also slated for an October launch, as well as Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Giannis Freak 6 in an orange makeover. Given that it’s a popular holiday for sneaker releases, there’s sure to be at least a few more Halloween styles announced between now and then.
There is currently no confirmed release date for this Air Jordan 1 Low “Halloween,” but readers can expect it to arrive sometime in October.
