It seems that with every new generation of Samsung smartphones, we see exciting experiments with form factors, components, and software. We've been reviewing the Galaxy handhelds (highly) for years, and the upcoming Galaxy S25 is promising a big leap in how you use your mobile device.
The company held its Galaxy Unpacked event on January 22nd. For the past few years, they've used this beginning-of-the-year presentation to introduce new hardware as well as open up preorders. This year's new Galaxy phones feature an upgrade to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, with a little faster clock speed and expanded RAM. The next-gen ProVisual Engine gives you enhanced camera control and image processing. The big news is AI, with One UI 7 adding multimodal machine-learning capabilities like context-aware searching, call summaries and more, all aided by Samsung's best-in-class multitasking.
The three new models that are hitting store shelves are the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra. We're not seeing any pricing changes, so they hold to the S24s: the base model starts at $799, the Plus variant starts at $999, and the Ultra variant starts at $1,299.
If you want to snag one, you have lots of options, starting with Samsung's official site. When you reserve one there, you'll also get:
$50 in Samsung credit
Up to $1,250 in potential additional savings
A chance to win $5,000 in Samsung credit
Reserve a new Samsung Galaxy S25 here. It's important to note that this isn't a pre-order, so no deposit is required. You're just letting the company know you're interested. You only get the $50 credit if you follow through on a purchase of a Galaxy S25. No purchase is necessary for the $5,000 contest.
Carrier deals are also starting to come in. Preorders begin on January 22 at 1pm ET, with the phones hitting stores on February 7th.
