‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ Star Sarah Michelle Gellar on Whether She’d Shag, Marry, or Kill Angel, Spike, and Xander
Shag, marry, kill: Angel, Spike, or Xander? A question that has plagued the greatest minds our world has ever known since the beginning of time. And by beginning of time, of course, I mean 1997. Sarah Michelle Gellar, the titular Buffy in the popular Buffy the Vampire Slayer television series, was on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen and was asked the “great” question.
“I mean, I guess, marry Angel, but can you really marry the undead?” Gellar asked before Cohen informed her that marrying the undead in this case is good to go. “OK, marry Angel, you shag Spike obviously.”
While Gellar was down to marry Angel, and “obviously” shag Spike, she wasn’t eager to finish the equation. “I don’t want to kill Xander, though,” she complained.
“You have to — it’s the game!” retorted Cohen
“You can’t make me,” replied Gellar.
“No, I can’t make Buffy do anything,” admitted Cohen.
