5 Ways David Tennant Was Everything You Hoped He'd Be at His First Wizard World Comic Con
David Tennant, star of Doctor Who and Broadchurch, made his first appearance at a Wizard World Comic Con in Raleigh over the weekend, and the notoriously fan-friendly actor did not disappoint — even if you were just at home following along on social media.
1. Let’s start with him filming a video for a young man who needed help asking a young lady out on a date. According to her Tumblr, where she posted the video, “Sweetest thing ever! I’m crying!” We’ll take that as a yes.
2. He was kind enough not to tell this child that, in fact, he looks nothing like a mini Tenth Doctor. (“I’m you, even though I have the wrong screwdriver.” Nice try, adorable little boy whose mother rules.)
3. He was seriously game when it was time to take photos (which, OK, he should have been since people paid for them).
Here he is witnessing a marriage proposal (Update: Watch it here!):
Here he is coming between a couple:
Here he is reunited with a former co-star:
Here he is donning fans’ flower crowns (which you know was his idea):
Here he is being a real clown (in a West Wing T-shirt):
Here he is doing a classic sonic screwdriver pose:
Here he is celebrating saving the world (and mutually excellent taste in footwear?):
4. He kept the crowd thoroughly entertained during his panel Q&As, like when he joked about the fan fiction written for the Doctor and Captain Jack (John Barrowman).
5. But he also gave thoughtful responses to questions: Which goodbye was the most difficult: Donna or Rose? (“One was a best mate and one was a girlfriend, really. I know we don’t say it, but she sort of was…”)
