‘Gotham’ Cast Does Their Best Clayface By Impersonating Each Other
Batman’s hometown has never been a cheery place, but the last season of Gotham found new ways of exploring just how dark the city could get — and they’re not done yet. We sat down with some of the cast — Ben McKenzie, Morena Baccarin, Chris Chalk, Erin Richard, Camryn Bicondova, and Michael Chiklis – to talk about how they feel being the subject of next season’s subtitle, “Heroes Will Fall.”

“We’ll definitely play with identity,” says McKenzie before hinting that one or more of the heroes will turn “dark. Very dark.” And does Chiklis look like the cat wit the canary in his mouth here? Or is he trying to draw attention away from McKenzie, whose Jim Gordon has been headed down a very grim path from the beginning? Still, the cast knows how to keep it light. You can’t call yourself a fan of Gotham until you’ve seen McKenzie’s impression of Chiklis which gets the seal of approval from Chiklis’s own daughter, who was watching from the sidelines. Maybe next season should be subtitled “Rise of the Impersonators.”
Gotham returns for a third season September 19 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
