'Halt and Catch Fire' Season 2 Premiere Preview: Welcome to Mutiny
They weren’t exactly BFFs before, but maybe they’ll make great business partners? They do each bring their own skills to the table, but, as we see in an exclusive clip from the May 31′s Halt and Catch Fire Season 2 premiere, the hope that Donna and Cameron will make great business cohorts doesn’t mean that new partnership is going to go smoothly. At all.
Donna left her gig at Texas Instruments in the Season 1 finale, and Cameron — after leaving Cardiff Electric — decided to create her own startup company, called Mutiny, and invited Donna to join. In Season 2, we’ll catch up with the pair — more than a year later — as they try to juggle innovation with the stresses of running a new company.
For Cameron (Mackenzie Davis), that means trying to make sure there are enough new games for users of her subscription service for playing games over phone lines, while Donna (Kerry Bishe) resents that she’s the one who’s responsible for paying the bills and holding the hands of the coders, lest the company not even be able to rely on the most basic of needs, like electricity.
In the season premiere — titled “SETI” — Cameron and Donna’s attitudes and their differing leadership ideals threaten the future of Mutiny, just when the company hits a critical juncture in its development.
Season 2 of Halt and Catch Fire premieres May 31 at 10 p.m. on AMC.
