When ‘MasterChef Junior’ Meets Miss Piggy, the Result Is Mayhem
Gordon Ramsay has mastered every cut of meat. There isn’t an animal that he can’t take apart and turn into a phenomenally appetizing dish without batting an eye. At least, that’s what we all thought. But when Miss Piggy steps into the MasterChef Junior kitchen, not even his years as a footballer can help him manhandle (swinehandle?) the outspoken Muppet.
“I don’t trust a tiny cabbage,” insists the opinionated pig to explain her distaste for Brussels sprouts. The answers are all over the place as Gordon and Christina Tosi shoot culinary questions at Miss Piggy, but it’s clear that it’s her show when she’s on stage. She doesn’t even care if the hosts are picking up what she’s putting down: She’s happy to laugh at her own jokes if nobody else will.
And, as befits a star of her status, Miss Piggy steps on Gordon’s lines whenever it suits her, forcing him to plead, “Mademoiselle Piggy!” just to get a word in edgewise. She’d better watch herself or the next episode may feature Muppet Wellington as the elimination challenge.
MasterChef Junior airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on Fox.
