'Orange Is the New Black': Taylor Schilling and Uzo Aduba Pick Their 'Sesame Street' Doppelgangers

When you’re doing time in prison, it’s only natural that your mind starts to drift to deep thoughts. Deep thoughts like: “If I were a Muppet, what Muppet would I be?” That’s the question Yahoo TV posed to two of the stars of Orange Is the New Black, Taylor Schilling and Uzo Aduba. It’s an appropriate query because the hit Netflix series, which premieres its third season June 12, shoots on the same Bronx-based soundstages as the long-running PBS kids’ show Sesame Street. In fact, Aduba had a close encounter with a Sesame Street legend the very first day she began shooting Season 1 of OITNB. No spoilers here, though. To find out who that was — as well as who Aduba and Schilling picked for their Muppet doppelgangers — you’ll have to watch the video above.

Schilling and Aduba also told us how the relationship between their respective Litchfield residents, new fish Piper and veteran prisoner Suzanne aka Crazy Eyes, has evolved over the course of the show’s two previous seasons and preview what lies ahead. “We ended Season 2 in a place where it almost felt like Litchfield had been ransacked,” says Aduba, who won an Outstanding Guest Actress Emmy last year. “And now the owner is going to have to sort of put the house back together.” The key to this bit of home restoration? “The idea of faith,” Aduba teases. Like the song says, you gotta have it.
